I don’t know if I have ever done an introduction

I don’t know if I have ever done an introduction on here….. so here we go. ⁣

I’m Colleen! I am from the cornfields of Indiana lol but since 2016 I have been on and off living abroad. ⁣
⁣
I was a yoga teacher for 5 years. I found yoga when I was in middle school and when I grew up I wanted to be a yoga teacher. I started my yoga wellness blog Mind Body, Colleen, in 2018. I am not as active on it anymore but I still write monthly for publications and wellness companies. ⁣
⁣
I wouldn’t be where I am today without my blog. Blogging is one of the best introductions for learning to create a digital nomad lifestyle. From all the digital marketing, design, lifestyle skills you gain from building a blog. ⁣
⁣
I don’t really teach yoga anymore either. My practice now is meditations, yoga nidra, and kundalini. I am actually doing a Kundalini teacher training next week thoughhh, which was my next yoga dream. ⁣
⁣
If you see me in a crowded room I am probably the stylish creative quiet girl in the corner. & I am probably doing some very peculiar stretch. ⁣
⁣
My personality is very soft and feminine but I have some hints of intense badass in there to balance it out. (Or I like to tell myself) Some ways I have shown my badassery is backpacking 21 countries in a year solo at 22, learning and purchasing my own motorcycle, now I think hustling with my design business is my current form. Entrepreneurship ain’t for the lighthearted. ⁣

One of my favorite qualities about myself is come up with massive fucking dreams and then figure out to make them happen. Each of you have this power and potential you just have to have the bravery to claim it and commitment to go for it. ⁣

A cute lil story about when one of my fashion dreams came true. 🦋☁️⁣⁣

For like 2 years I dreamt of this very specific macrame outfit I saw an influencer wear to Burning Man. I saved tons of inspo photos from the designer of that outfit. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Then in May @passionpilgrim and I started getting closer. She is a macrame extraordinaire and she invited me over for a crafternoon. She asked me if I wanted to learn to make coasters or a dreamcatcher but really I was scheming for a whole outfit. 😂 I showed her the designs and to my surprise, she was super enthusiastic to give it a go. ⁣⁣

So we made this skirt and really that crafternoon was like the big kick-off our beautiful friendship. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
& this past weekend I got to wear this bohemian dream of a skirt that holds so much love for us to Bali Burn! ⁣⁣

What I have learned from having a heavy workload.

My life has been more full than probably ever with deadlines and projects. Although I have noticed I am way less patient and have way less energy to give people I have had quite a few positive insights from this phase. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
1. Clarity on what feels nuturing or draining. Since my personal batteries are much lower than usually I have been way more clear on what activities, people, foods, habits that feel like the give me energy or take it away. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
2. Constant analysis of the quality of my focus and headspace. I have had to be more efficient that ever so I have been a lot more aware of my concentration like long can I stay with a topic or what is prohibiting me from dropping into flow when working. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
3. Less time BS behaviors. Lol things like screen time, creating stories in my head and then keeping myself in the wash cycle of them, spending thinking about how annoying or challenging something is before doing it. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
4. Less time for healing and personal growth. Honestly I have had years given to this so its nice to take a break. It has shown me how easy it is to get these emotional and mental ruts because there’s nothing else pressing to do and you keep yourself in these I’m not good enough I need to fix myself, this quality of me sucks, thought loops. (don't me wrong healing and processing growth take time but from experience, there is an edge where it gets toxic.) ⁣⁣

So yes I am a bit overwhelmed working so much ready for my life to slow down a bit but there have been many takeaways, clarity, and mental improvements this current phase of life too. 🐚🌸✨⁣

Beauty is cultivated in slowness, that richness of taking time for ourselves. In leisure. In loyalty to finding out who we are, not in the obsession of running away from ourselves. Real beauty and real power means stepping into the embodied feminine which means we cultivate and embrace the essence of beauty, the essence of what it means to be a Woman, which is so much more powerful than we are told. ⁣🐚🦋🌸

I think we are about at my one year anniversary si

I think we are about at my one year anniversary since my feet were last on American soil. ⁣⁣

I think this is the longest I have been away because the year I lived in Europe I went home for the holidays. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Can’t say I miss much about it other than my family and my previous closet that is stored in their basement. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I am certain Bali is the best place and community I have ever lived in. This island has given me so much growth, healing, prosperity, inspiration, and friendship. This place runs on a nurturing magic and a divine intelligence. Somehow my next wildest dream or peculiar wish is always just around the corner and literally surfaces like 2 weeks after marinating in my mind. ⁣⁣

Every ounce of me is grateful for this place and this phase of my life. 🐚🌸🦋⁣

This season of my life I am working with boundaries & how they show up in all areas of my life. ⁣
⁣
What I give my time, what gets to rent a room in my headspace, the way I allow people in my life to treat me, the flow in my work life.... really developing the whole the gamut. ⁣
⁣
⁣
So here are some examples of what boundaries may sound like (or NEED to sound like) for you ✨⁣
⁣
1. It’s not my job to rescue other people from their drama.⁣
⁣
2. It is okay if others get angry.⁣
⁣
3. No one has to agree with me.⁣
⁣
4. No one has the right to verbally abuse me and that includes family, friends, partners, coworkers.⁣
⁣
5. It’s ok to spend time alone without explaining myself. ⁣
⁣
6. It is my job to figure out what makes me happy and brings me joy. ⁣
⁣
7. I don’t need permission to be who cam, what I think, nor to honor me. ⁣
⁣
8. I have a right to end draining conversations and relationships. ⁣
⁣
9. I have a right to my feelings no matter what anyone else thinks about my feelings. ⁣
⁣
10. It’s not my job to think, feel, or live for others. ⁣
⁣
11. Others have every right to not like me or disagree with me, but they do not have the right to disrespect me. ⁣
⁣
12. I deeply know I am enough. ⁣
⁣
⁣
Damn honestly even just writing this list, I am thinking to myself I need to read this every day. 😂⁣
