Brunch is definitely the best meal of the week. Here are 5 places I have found in Indy that offer fabulous food and feng shui to heal your Sunday Scaries.
1.Garden Table
If you love juices and a hip farm to table culture this place is for you. This restaurant can be found downtown on Mass Ave or in Broad Ripple. Garden Table is known for having a plethora of different juices to enhance your wellness. I would recommend getting a juice flight your first time there can get a taste of the diversity. If you also are thinking about doing juice cleanse they can juice and create a plan for you. I personally am a sucker for acai bowls and kombucha cocktails (no other combination indicates I am a trendy health conscious millennial just like that one.)
2. Cafe Patachou
There are many different Cafe Patachous in Indy. I went to the one on Washington Street downtown. Their culture is a “Student Union for Adults”. I felt the vibe here was a very clean, sleekier, all age, open environment. This is another farm to table restaurant. My mom and I both ordered omelets. She ordered the Overachiever, I was torn between the Hippie with a Benz or California Dreamer. We said it was pick your personality omelets. Most meals come with different options of toast. Definitely order the cinnamon toast! They have a really large menu with tons of options for all dietary restrictions. It a great place for brunching in larger groups to accommodate a large range of preferences.
3. Yolk
There are 3 different Yolk locations in Indy. One is right next to the Salesforce Tower and another on South Street. Yolk has a more commercial vibe than the others on the list. It is a chain restaurant. I would stay this is the perfect place for when you’re brunch with those that are turned off by health food places. Yet it still has some eccentric options and hip atmosphere. I would recommend the red velvet french toast and the strawberry orange juice is fabulous.
4. MilkTooth
Milktooth is a little hipster haven in Fountain Square. Here you can expect a more authentic urban outfitters vibe but in a restaurant. The menu is all unique foods, in a very strange, but delicious combination. (what else would you expect from a place I identified as a hipster haven). The line can be very long so I recommend getting there early or being prepared for a wait, if you are going on the weekend. I have order the spanish manchego & grapefruit dutch baby pancake which has shaved brussel sprouts, shallot, hazelnut, sherry vinaigrette. I have also had the ancient grains bowl with coconut milk, plum jam, hemp seed, pistachio. I really enjoyed both of these choices. There is a section of their menu that is always rotating so each time you go you find something new you love.
5. Traders Point Creamery
I love TPC because it was one of the first true farm to table restaurants I had ever eaten at years ago. It holds a special place in my heart. This is located in Zionsville. It is actually on a farm which some of the foods are produced on. The creamy is known for their super fresh milk and ice cream, which you must try if you visit. The vibe here is a little more of rustic, cozy, more family atmosphere. Sometimes the portions here are bit smaller. Personally this is perfect for me but think it is definitely quality over quantity. They also have a small store downstairs with organic artisan products and foods to take home.
These are the best brunch places I have found in Indy this far. I have only lived here for 3 months so please send me any others you recommend trying out. Comment any questions you may have or groovy options you have ordered at these spots. Happy Brunchin’!
